Our CEO

Meet Our CEO

Amy Gonsalves, Chief Executive Officer

In January 2026, Amy Gonsalves became Chief Executive Officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket, becoming the first woman to lead the organization in its history.

Amy joined the Club in 2020 as Director of Development & Communications and quickly became an integral part of the organization’s leadership. She later served as Associate Executive Director, working closely alongside longtime CEO Jim Hoyt before stepping into the CEO role.

A Career Rooted in Service

Amy’s career began in journalism before she found her calling in nonprofit work. Before joining the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket, she served organizations including The Genesis Foundation for Children, Kennedy Donovan Center, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Throughout her career, Amy has been recognized locally and nationally for her work. She was named a Providence Business News Woman to Watch in 2022 and was honored by Boys & Girls Clubs of America as the Northeast Region Outstanding Resource Development Professional of the Year in 2023. Locally, she has deepened her leadership skills through the Women’s Fund of Rhode Island’s Policy Institute, executive coaching, and by serving as Secretary on the Association of Fundraising Professionals – RI Board of Directors, the Pawtucket Foundation Board of Directors, and the Pawtucket Rotary Club Board of Directors.

In 2026, Amy was also named to Providence Business News’ 40 Under Forty, recognizing her leadership and contributions to the Rhode Island community.

Leadership at the Club

Since joining the Club, Amy has helped strengthen relationships throughout the community, expand resources for Club members and families, and build support for the organization’s mission.

Her transition to CEO followed the retirement of Jim Hoyt, who led the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket for decades. After working closely together during the leadership transition, Jim shared his confidence in Amy:

“As a servant leader, Amy leads with empathy, integrity, and humility. She has a proven track record of building relationships and expanding support both internally and externally. With her deep understanding of the Club’s mission and values, I know she will strengthen our future and expand our impact.”

Looking Ahead

As CEO, Amy leads the Club alongside its Board, staff, supporters, volunteers and community partners, building on the organization’s long history while looking toward its future.

“I am honored to be the first woman to step into the role of CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket,” Amy said. “Jim has been an incredible leader, and I am grateful for the chance to build on his legacy. I look forward to working alongside our Board, staff, supporters, and volunteers to continue building on the Club’s strong history of impact.”
